Daily Prompt – Pride and Joy

What’s your most prized possession? GO!

Hmmm… this is a tough one… there’s so many of them.

I think that it would be a tie between my MacBook Pro and my PS3. Continue reading

Apr 29 – Turning Negatives Into Opportunities

Rahm Emanuel said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.”  Have you ever spun a crisis into an opportunity?

I think, if anything, I’ve always used a crisis as a learning opportunity.

I’ve learnt how resourceful I can be when it comes to the crunch. I’ve learnt a lot about other people, and how extremely selfish and destructive they can become. I’ve also learnt through experience that the only person I really can count on is always going to be myself.

Daily Prompt – I Can’t Stay Mad at You

Do you hold grudges or do you believe in forgive and forget?

Correction… I can and WILL stay mad at you for as long as I feel like it…

Give me a reason to hold a grudge… any reason… any reason at all… regardless of how minor it may be, and it’s like setting something into concrete – I’ll hold onto that grudge for as long as I need to.

Hi, I’m a Scorpio, and I’m the wrong person you want to be pissing off. Ever. For me, holding grudges is something that just happens . Naturally. Like learning to walk, or brushing your teeth at night. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always held grudges against people, even when I was a kid. I was always of the mindset that if you’re going to piss me off or upset me, then I want nothing to do with you.

…and that was just primary school!

Apr 28 – Crisis Mode

Do you keep calm in a crisis?

I think that’s dependent on the actual crisis itself. The other factor here is that everybody has their own definition of the term ‘crisis’. Generally speaking, it would need to be quite extreme for me to consider something a crisis and I think that I’d be okay.

I’ve been through more than more my fair share of bullshit over the years, found myself in some less-than-ideal situations unfortunately caused by other people, and although at the time it feels like the entire world is crashing down around me in an extreme path of pure destruction, I feel like I’m going to have a complete breakdown and yet somehow, I come out on the other side. Not necessarily without taking a few knocks along the way, but I manage to end up okay.

Daily Prompt – It’s My Party

You’re throwing a party — for you! Tell us all about the food, drink, events, and party favours you’ll have for your event of a lifetime. Use any theme you like — it’s *your* party!

Ironically I was only dreaming about this a few nights ago – and I dreamt that I was organising my birthday party – and the theme was Drag Superstar Realness. The reality is, I’ve been watching waaaay too much RuPaul’s Drag Race, and have become just a little bit obsessed with it. I guess it also doesn’t help when we get together with a couple of our friends and go out almost every weekend for the past few weeks to see some performers from RuPaul’s Drag Race (RPDR) perform at a gay club here in Melbourne.

Daily Prompt – He’s (She’s) So Fine

What was it that drew you to your significant other? Their blue eyes? Their ginger countenance? Their smile? Their voice?

I can’t quite put my finger on what it was exactly about Hulk that first drew me in… I don’t necessarily think that it was anything specific, I think it was mores a case of a friendship that quickly developed into a relationship.

He was my manager, and had been for a little while before we had actually met.

Daily Prompt – If I Had a Hammer

If you could learn a trade — say carpentry, electrical work, roofing, landscaping, plumbing, flooring, drywall — you name it — what skill(s) would you love to have in your back pocket?

Most people don’t actually know this about me, but I secretly know my way around power tools. Dropsaw, jigsaw, hammer drill etc – I’ve used them all before…

Apr 25 – Selective Comments

Do you think people should have the right to prune their comment section, only keeping positive comments and deleting the critical ones?

I know that I’ve seen certain people on Facebook edit their comments when they post something, and somebody says something that they don’t like.

Yes, on one side I believe that in terms of a public forum like Facebook, everybody should have the right to express their own opinions and say what they want – naturally, providing that it’s not racist or a hate-speech etc etc. However, there are people out there who are quite opinionated – and I’ll happily raise my hand and say that I’m one of them, but even I know when I am crossing a line and being too offensive, and when I do that, I edit myself and simmer down the tone somewhat.

Daily Prompt – Teenage Idol

Who did you idolize as a teenager? Did you go crazy for the Beatles? Ga-ga over Duran Duran? In love with Justin Bieber? Did you think Elvis was the livin’ end?

I never really idolised anybody when I was a teenager… instead I just wanted to meet them and be friends with them. Is that weird?

When I was sixteen I wanted to be a dancer for so many recording artists, but mainly Janet Jackson. I knew that it would only ever be just that – a dream, but no harm in dreaming big. I also wanted to dance for Britney Spears… well, until she released Sometimes and then I kinda went off her for a while.
