Your local electronics store has just started selling time machines, anywhere doors, and invisibility helmets. You can only afford one. Which of these do you buy, and why?
Well god-damn it, why do I have to be so poor??
I would probably pick the time machine, that way I would be able to go back in time and stop myself from making some of my poor choices – not ALL my bad choices, because otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to write about. But in saying that, if I go back in time and change decisions, then it completely changes the entire course of history, so who’s to say that I still end up sitting on my couch in my pj’s on a Sunday morning, like I am write now, catching up on 13 overdue blog posts…!?!
The ability to go back in time would be great. I’d be advising the other me to do things like push my parents into sending me to a proper dance school at a younger age; how to deal with the bullies in my life; get myself to eat a better diet, rather than living on toast and biscuits. I’d also use it to rig a couple of Lotto draws, making sure that I pick the right numbers in order to win… and then use that money to invest in things like shares and property… and travel.
I’m sure that a lot of people would probably go back in time and do anything possible to ensure they end up having a completely different life, but that’s not me, I’d still like to pretty much have the same life… just slightly better.
