Go down the rabbit hole with Alice; play quidditch with Harry Potter; float down the river with Huck Finn… If you could choose three fictional events or adventures to experience yourself, what would they be?
Well for starters, I’d DEFINITELY be hanging out with Prime Minister Tilda Swinton, as Frosty The Snow Bitch from Narnia…
… Who wouldn’t want a magical wardrobe that takes them to another fucking world and hang out with all kinda of amazing creatures? Besides her little sleigh a) looks fucking awesome and b) looks like it belongs in a Mardi Gras / Pride march.
“Snow Bitch Swinton Supports Gay Marriage!”
Sounds like my kind of fun. It’s like a giant white party.
The next one that I have always loved since I was a kid, is The Magic Faraway Tree. A novel by Enid Blyton, it’s a book that will forever live in my memory. It was one of those books that really got me to understand creativity and break free from the mindset of what is normal, and delve into fantasy as a very young child. I remember that even when I was about 4 or 5 and mum would read stories to me, I’d always wished that I could join the kids on their adventures and wished one day I would find my own magic faraway tree with a secret little door hidden on the side of it so I could transport myself to such weird and wonderful worlds.
The last one I would love to experience would perhaps be Where The Wild Things Are – sailing across the seas to a far off land and discovering a group of monsters and having adventures. Running through the forest and living like a monster – would be a perfect time to indulge in childhood fantasies.
