‘Tis the season for road trips — if time and money were out of the equation, what car-based adventure would you go on? (If you don’t or can’t drive, any land-based journey counts.)
There’s three continents that would make an excellent driving adventure: Europe, North America and New Zealand.
For me, I’d love nothing more than to spend a few weeks driving around NZ, in summer though, doing nothing but ask, and eat, and just immerse myself in the stunning country and it’s culture.
Seeing as how NZ is split into a North and South Island, I’d like to start at the North and then work my way south, and avoiding Auckland as much as possible. Not that I have anything against AKL, but every time I’ve been to NZ, I only ever get to stay in AKL, and I’d much prefer to see the rest of the country for a change.
It’s such a beautiful picturesque place to visit, and it’s only 4hrs across ‘the ditch’ as we say. Besides, it’s where Hobbiton is, and how could you not want to visit Hobbiton?!?!
