You’ve been granted the power to predict the future! The catch — each time you use your power, it costs you one day (as in, you’ll live one day less). How would you use this power, if at all?
The very first time I use this power, it would be to find out roughly how old I’ll be when I die.. then I can use that a rough starting point for completely manipulating my entire life to make as incredibly amazing as possible… and die when I’m 48.
As tempting as it would be, I’d only use the power to ensure that myself and my family have a happy life; that we’re able to provide and that we’re happy. Whilst it would be to go all Back To The Future and predict who’s going to win every sports game for the next 50years and bet on every single one of them, but then that would literally cost me 50years of my life and I’d end up dropping dead tomorrow and it would all have been for nothing.
It would just be so easy to look into the future and see whether or not a work position will be beneficial, or if a new venture will turn sour, or whether new friends will be great friends or become enemies. But then wouldn’t that just rob you of experiencing things for yourself?
If I could have this power AND the ability to time travel as well, then it’d be a completely different story.
