Daily Prompt: Ready, Set, Done

Today, write about anything — but you must write for exactly ten minutes, no more, no less.

This morning has been a bit of a write-off… but really, who really cares… it’s Monday and it’s school holidays and half the office is on leave…

This morning I woke up before my alarm, having found myself in bed at the amazing time of 10:30pm. I didn’t even get to finish watching Project Runway! But I was just that exhausted, and Hulk was already asleep on the couch, so it was definitely bed time.

So today I woke up before my alarm, not the usual 5 mins before, but a good 50 MINUTES earlier… *groan* and what made it worse, was that when I woke up, I was wide awake and had no chance at going back to sleep. So I just layed in bed and had a cuddle until my (first) alarm went off – because I have two – seven minutes apart.

When I got up I wandered around in a daze briefly, and got myself dressed. I watched a bit of the morning news, catching some details about the weather and a major traffic issue on one of the main roads in Melbourne which was affecting the public transport in that area. Those moments only mean one thing – I’m going to be late for work.

I left the apartment, and walked out into some blindingly bright morning sun, and attempted to film a very overdue education video for my other job… and in all honesty, I think I made about 20+ videos, because I kept getting tongue tied and messing up my words… and saying ‘ummmm’ far too often.

I got to work and got myself settled, and then went into one of the meeting rooms and made yet another attempt at this ed session. Six videos later and I’d finally managed to get it all out. Once that was done, I did something I had never tried before – editing the video on my iPad! I’ve never used iMovie on either my iPhone or iPad before, and admittedly had to do a bit of a web search to try and work out how to edit some of the clips – because the version that I had just installed, was completely different to the visuals I saw on some of the ‘how-to’ websites… but I eventually got it done.

I felt quite accomplished! Now I know how to do it, I’ll be able to make even more videos like this – and it was surprisingly easy to do!
