The only Avant Garde quality I have is my obsession and adoration for avant Garde fashion!
Ever since I was little I’ve always been fascinated by costumes and creative, artistic pieces of fashion, or wearable art – even when I didn’t even know what avant Garde was or meant.
It was so mesmerising – to see something so completely different to any regular ‘fashion’ and it wasn’t a costume in a show, and see people losing their minds over this stuff… The volume and the intricacies and the detail were and are breathtaking.
I wouldn’t say I was ever ahead of the curve or trend, more so my interests were just generally different to the norm, and I like to think those qualities are what made me special and unique growing up.
It’s nice to be different sometimes.
