When was the last time a movie, a book, or a television show left you cold despite all your friends (and/or all the critics) raving about it? What was it that made you go against the critical consensus?
GAME. OF. FUCKING. THRONES!!!

If you were involved in a movie, would you rather be the director, the producer, or the lead performer? (Note: you can’t be the writer!).
“Write da deem toon, sing da feem toon…”
When I was younger I wanted to be an actor, but it wasn’t something I actively pursued. I was more into dancing. I still had aspirations of being in front of the camera, but by dancing in video clips and going on tours with artists etc.
If I was going to be involved in a movie, I’d probably prefer to be the producer. They’re the ones responsible for putting everything together for the movie, from supervising scripts, and casting, to things like budgeting, scene analysis, input over editing, pitching the film for financial backing etc. It basically becomes a project whereby they are involved in almost every single step of the way.
It requires quite a significant amount of time and commitment in order to become a producer for a film, simply because of all the leg-work that’s required just to get the film up off the ground. Then they become responsible for keeping the film / project afloat the whole time, to ensure that it doesn’t crash and burn. It would undoubtedly be an incredibly stressful job, but I think that the rewards of putting together an amazing film would be the ends that justifies the means.
I wouldn’t necessarily do it for the glory of being able to say “I produced that film… don’t you know who I am?” – that’s not me, I’d rather be more quietly successful and sought after, rather than people making a big song and dance over me. I think when that happens, there’s so much more expectation placed on you – than there normally would – to make sure that you don’t completely fuck it all up.
But I think that if I was being approached to produce a film, it would obviously be because I have great skills and talent for doing so, and I’d rather that be the case than having / using the bragging rights of my name to sell the movie to the people providing the money.
