Daily Prompt – Unsung Heroes

We all have our semi-secret, less-known personal favorites — a great B-side, an early work by an artist that later became famous, an obscure (but delicious) family recipe. Share one of your unsung heroes with us — how did you discover it? Why has it stayed off everyone’s radar?

I can’t actually say that I have any – if anything, I do love a good B-side, but it’s not very often that my favourite artists will release any B-sides. Although, I do like it when they do an album of B-sides as a retrospective – artists like the Sugababes and Kylie Minogue have both released some great B-side albums. There’s even been a few Britney Spears B-sides that I’ve grown to like almost more than the rest of her work, but even then, those are far and few between.

Daily Prompt – Teenage Idol

Who did you idolize as a teenager? Did you go crazy for the Beatles? Ga-ga over Duran Duran? In love with Justin Bieber? Did you think Elvis was the livin’ end?

I never really idolised anybody when I was a teenager… instead I just wanted to meet them and be friends with them. Is that weird?

When I was sixteen I wanted to be a dancer for so many recording artists, but mainly Janet Jackson. I knew that it would only ever be just that – a dream, but no harm in dreaming big. I also wanted to dance for Britney Spears… well, until she released Sometimes and then I kinda went off her for a while.
