19 Aug – Favourite School Grade

What was your favourite grade in school and why?

Generally speaking, I hated school. Kids can be nasty little cunts when they want to be.

Daily Prompt: Tattoo….You?

Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink? If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting emblazoned on you skin?

Tattoos have really become quite popular. Everywhere I go, there’s masses of people with all kinds of ink covering their body. Full-leg tatts, sleeves, or just completely random images / words strewn across their bodies for the whole world to see. Oh, and lots and lots of the same images for the whole world to see. Let’s face it, I’ll no doubt walk out the door and within five minutes, I’ll come across at least a dozen people with a sleeve, or half-sleeve, or my personal favourite, full-neck tattoos.

Nothing says professional quite like having your entire neck covered in permanent graphics.

I’d probably be more into tattoos, if they weren’t all so generic. Koi, the Southern Cross, the words Peace / Love / Hate etc. Love hearts, snakes and dragons, wings etc etc etc. Just make it stop. Why can’t you people get a tattoo with some actual meaning behind it? Why not get something individual.

But a Koi is individual. Yes. Just like it’s individual to the countless thousands who also have a Koi tattoo on their arm. You’re so unique!

I have only come around to the thought of getting a tattoo in the past few years. I’ve always said that if I did actually get one that I would be content with having for the rest of my life, then I would get my friend to design it for me. Yedi is a graphic design artist who now works at a tattoo parlour. We haven’t actually seen each other for a couple of years, and although she’s probably forgotten by now, I did promise that I’d get her to design my tatt for me.

I think people forget that tattoos are permanent. I don’t think many people are thinking about what it’s going to look like when they’re 80 and their skin is all saggy and wrinkly. Can you imagine the current generation of 20-30yr olds when they hit that age. Just imagine all. those. hipsters. So many saggy tatts. Then we’ll see if your neck tattoos are still looking as cool as you think it looks now?!

Although, I think if I came across an 80yr old with neck tattoos, I’d probably still cross the street to avoid them.
