Daily Prompt – Howl At The Moon

“Follow your inner moonlight; don’t hide the madness.” — Allen Ginsberg

Do you follow Ginsberg’s advice — in your writing and/or in your everyday life?

My ‘madness’, if that’s what we’re referring to it as, is what makes me uniquely me.

19 Aug – Favourite School Grade

What was your favourite grade in school and why?

Generally speaking, I hated school. Kids can be nasty little cunts when they want to be.

Daily Prompt – The Name’s The Thing

Have you ever named an inanimate object? (Your car? Your laptop? The volleyball that kept you company while you were stranded in the ocean?) Share the story of at least one object with which you’re on a first-name basis.

I’ve never been one of these people. Most people that I know have given a name to something has been a car or something like a laptop.

When I was in my final years of high school, my girlfriend had a guitar which she named Polly, and it was one of those names that just stuck from that moment on. If we ever went somewhere together, she’d say she’s bringing Polly, and I’d just smile and others would wonder who this Polly chick was and why they hadn’t met her before.

Another couple of friends gave their cars names, but other than that, we weren’t too big on the whole ‘naming objects’ phase.

4 Aug – Chunks of Memory

Which memory devices work best for you when trying to memorize chunks of information?

Well it’s been a long time since I’ve needed to remember chunks of info, and it doesn’t help having a memory like a sieve. Continue reading

Daily Prompt – Missing Sequels

If you could create a sequel to one favorite (standalone) movie, which would it be? How would it build on the original?

I thought about this for a while, and there’s a couple of terrible iconic movies that are waiting for sequels, but one that stands out moreso…

Daily Prompt – I Can’t Stay Mad at You

Do you hold grudges or do you believe in forgive and forget?

Correction… I can and WILL stay mad at you for as long as I feel like it…

Give me a reason to hold a grudge… any reason… any reason at all… regardless of how minor it may be, and it’s like setting something into concrete – I’ll hold onto that grudge for as long as I need to.

Hi, I’m a Scorpio, and I’m the wrong person you want to be pissing off. Ever. For me, holding grudges is something that just happens . Naturally. Like learning to walk, or brushing your teeth at night. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always held grudges against people, even when I was a kid. I was always of the mindset that if you’re going to piss me off or upset me, then I want nothing to do with you.

…and that was just primary school!

Daily Prompt – Teenage Idol

Who did you idolize as a teenager? Did you go crazy for the Beatles? Ga-ga over Duran Duran? In love with Justin Bieber? Did you think Elvis was the livin’ end?

I never really idolised anybody when I was a teenager… instead I just wanted to meet them and be friends with them. Is that weird?

When I was sixteen I wanted to be a dancer for so many recording artists, but mainly Janet Jackson. I knew that it would only ever be just that – a dream, but no harm in dreaming big. I also wanted to dance for Britney Spears… well, until she released Sometimes and then I kinda went off her for a while.

Daily Prompt – Only Sixteen

Tell us all about the person you were when you were sixteen. If you haven’t yet hit sixteen, tell us about the person you want to be at sixteen.

Oh, I was a bit all over the place when I was sixteen. I was focused on my dancing, and riding my bike everywhere. All I wanted to do was hang out with my friends. I was trying to be an individual, and trying to fit in at the same time. I had a major crush on one of my closest girlfriends, but also knew I liked guys as well.  I was sexually confused and raging with hormones. I loved English, Drama, Food Tech and Computer Studies at school, and absolutely despised Health / P.E., Maths, History, Geography and Social Studies. I wore Doc Martens to my Year 10 Formal, and was obsessed with The Spice Girls. My favourite possession was my Discman, and I listened to the Remixes of Aqua’s album Aquarium more than the actual regular album itself. I also discovered just how much I enjoyed all the unknown songs from The Vengaboys… hmmm… I might go see what they have on iTunes….

UPDATE: So after writing this, I then sat up until 3am scouring through the iTunes store looking at all different artists from when I was 16… Aqua, Vengaboys, Steps, Mandy Moore etc etc. Talk about a distraction!!
