24 Nov – Challenging Posts

What’s your favorite headline/blog post title you’ve ever written? What was the hardest post to title?

This one’s not really relevant because they’re all pre-titled for me, and even my Nablopomo ones are pretty self-explanatory.

I think that this will become more of a challenge once I start delving into creative writing a lot more in 2015.

Daily Prompt – 190 Days Later

Back on January 21st, we asked you to predict what day #211 would be like. Well, July 30th is that day — how have your predictions held up so far? If you didn’t reply to the prompt at the time, is this year turning out to be as you’d expected?

Well as predicted, it was payday, and I certainly paid all my bills, and my rent and now I’m broke for the rest of the fortnight.

However, that was really the only really accurate prediction. I didn’t get a day off, nor was I in the city killing time before gym. Although I did actually go to the gym, but it was to do my rehab exercises instead of doing a class. I haven’t done a class for seven weeks and it’s driving me cray-cray.

I did however manage to write a truck load of posts, although in saying that I’m still trying to catch up, and sometimes I wonder if I actually will catch up, or will I always be stuck with a backlog of posts to write?

Daily Prompt: Against All Odds

Tell us about a situation where you’d hoped against all hope, where the odds were completely stacked against you, yet you triumphed. Be sure to describe your situation in full detail. Tell us all about your triumph in all its glory.

…I don’t actually recall a situation like this. Granted, I’m thinking quite literally and thinking of something quite major, but I don’t recall ever finding myself in a situation such as this.

I think perhaps the most recent situation could be something as minor as finding myself with a backlog of blog posts that I wanted to complete as part of my supposed daily writing challenge… but after not being able to write anything for over a week, I found myself with about 13 or 14 posts that I needed to catch up on. But every day I delayed writing, I’d have to add another two posts to my ever-growing backlog… I felt stuck as though I’d never get out and catch up again.

However, I finally got a chance one weekend, and absolutely smashed out all of my remaining posts, and it felt so great. It felt like a real sense of accomplishment… but one that I couldn’t really celebrate with anybody, because only a couple of my friends know that I have this blog. So I was basically giving myself a hi-five.

However, as of yesterday, I’ve found myself back in this darn trap again. Only worse. As of yesterday, my backlog total was 19 posts. NINETEEN!!! That’s just ridiculous. I actually contemplated just totally skipping the rest of the month, and picking it all up again in April, because that would have just been so much easier. In saying that, since yesterday I’ve managed to smash out (including this one) eight posts already, but I’ve still got two more to add for todays prompts, which takes my outstanding total to thirteen. *groan* However, instead of simply accepting defeat, I’ve decided to pull up my socks and force myself to write, and write, and write, and get myself back up to date… so I guess in terms of relating this all back to the initial prompt… consider the answer to still be a work in progress…
