The One That Got Away

You bump into an ex-lover on Valentine’s Day—the one whom you often call “The One That Got Away.” What happens?

It had been quite some time since Mark had thought about his ex-boyfriend. If anything, he’d done almost everything he possibly could to try and erase any reminder of him from Mark’s life; deleting texts and emails, destroying photographs and letters and drawings, even blocking his number on his phone… but no matter how hard he tried, Mark could never completely erase Andy from his mind.

19 Dec – Reflection of Emotion

Audrey Hepburn said, “If my world were to cave in tomorrow, I would look back on all the pleasures, excitements and worthwhilenesses I have been lucky enough to have had. Not the sadness, not my miscarriages or my father leaving home, but the joy of everything else. It will have been enough.” Do you think you would do the same, or do the sad times stand out in your mind?

It’s hard for me to sit here and reflect on the positive experiences I’ve had in my life, or even the past few years, because it’s always been overshadowed by the negative and sad times – I think because they’re the moments that generate a more significant emotional reaction; they’re the ones that are the hardest to deal with and the ones that take more of an emotional toll on us.

10 Dec – A Happy Balance

Do you think you maintain a good balance of making yourself happy while making other people happy?

Absolutely not. If I’m truly honest about it all, I’m terrible at making myself happy – I’m generally putting others before myself.

1 Dec – A Little Joy

What do you do when you’re down to bring yourself a little happy?

It all comes down to the severity of my sadness.

Sometimes, it can be just as  simple as calling a friend or watching some cat videos on YouTube. That alone can bring quite a big smile to my face.

However, for more extended or severe moments it can vary. It might need a three-hour vent to Mum, or it might just need sleep. Sometimes I turn to watching movies, in the bath, whilst eating chocolate. Or  Sometimes I just go shopping.

Either way, I just prefer to be alone.

Daily Prompt – Golden Key

You’ve been given a key that can open one building, room, locker, or box to which you don’t normally have access. How do you use it, and why?

‘Daniel, you’ve been with me through everything, but I don’t want you here for this. I’m an old man, and there is a lot you are yet to learn. I know you have many questions, and I know you’ve been searching for years for answers, but the truth is, I have all of your answers, I’ve just been keeping them from you. I needed to wait until you were mature enough to think rationally and logically without letting emotion cloud your judgement.

Daily Prompt – I Can’t Stay Mad at You

Do you hold grudges or do you believe in forgive and forget?

Correction… I can and WILL stay mad at you for as long as I feel like it…

Give me a reason to hold a grudge… any reason… any reason at all… regardless of how minor it may be, and it’s like setting something into concrete – I’ll hold onto that grudge for as long as I need to.

Hi, I’m a Scorpio, and I’m the wrong person you want to be pissing off. Ever. For me, holding grudges is something that just happens . Naturally. Like learning to walk, or brushing your teeth at night. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always held grudges against people, even when I was a kid. I was always of the mindset that if you’re going to piss me off or upset me, then I want nothing to do with you.

…and that was just primary school!
