Write about any topic you wish, but make sure your post features a bookcase, something cracked, and a song you love.
Casey put down the box in the hallway, straddling the top of it to push the two flaps on top together, and then using the heavy-duty packing tape, taped the top of the box shut. She carefully sat there on top of the box, let out a giant sigh as she looked around her, observing all the other piles of belongings that still needed to be packed.
Is there a period in your own personal life that you think of as the good old days? Tell us a story about those innocent and/or exciting times (or lack thereof).
There are several different periods that I refer to as the good old days. Like when I was a kid living in the country. Or when it was just mum and I living together. Or the first couple of years I was living in Melbourne. Or the times I spent with my previous best friend.
So it’s hard to focus on just one.
What is your favorite holiday memory? (And yes, you can pick any holiday, including your birthday.)
I don’t really have a favorite memory, probably because we never went on holidays.

Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth — or with dread?
Here in ‘Straya (mate!) we’re moving into spring, and the weather is currently a bit of a mess. Hot. Sunny. Cold. Windy. Sunny. Hailing. All in a day. Okay, so maybe it’s not that bad, but it has it’s moments.

As a kid, were you happy or anxious about going back to school? Now that you’re older, how has your attitude toward the end of the summer evolved?
For us here in ‘Straya, the end of August is just that, the end of another month. Oh and the end of winter!
Back to school is right around the corner. Are you ready for another school year?
I’ve always been fascinated by the US school terms. The concept of having an entire 3 month break over summer is truly quite remarkable. I say this only because we have our educational terms structured as four distinct terms from Jan – Dec, with (usually) a two-week break between terms.
I used to love school holidays because it was all about sleeping in and hanging out with my friends… and then I got into my senior years of high school and that disappeared and was replaced with study.
Also not having kids means I don’t need to concern myself with anything related to going back to school.
Although, I will admit that when I was in school, I really did look forward to covering my books. When I was younger it was all about getting really cool adhesive book cover (aka ‘Contact’), usually something silvery / holographic. Then I went through a period of making my own covers – using magazine clippings, different letters from different fonts to spell out the subject; various pictures etc. I’d cover the book first in a layer of newspaper, then glue all the clippings on and then cover it all with clear contact.
I could just never work out how to avoid getting any bubbles under the surface.
We all have songs that remind us of specific periods and events in our lives. Twenty years from now, which song will remind you of the summer of 2014?
I wouldn’t necessarily say that there is any music that is that iconic that it would bring back memories of what is actually our winter 2014.
You’re at the beach with some friends and/or family, enjoying the sun, nibbling on some watermelon. All of a sudden, within seconds, the weather shifts and hail starts descending from the sky. Write a post about what happens next.
When Hayley and Lucas ran towards the water, it was the absolute perfect summer day.
Happy 4th of July if you live in the US. Tell us your 10 favourite things about summer.
Happy 4th of July… I guess.
As somebody who doesn’t live in America, or celebrate American holidays, the 4th is lost on me. Here in Australia, it was just another day. Friday, to be exact. A day of nothing. A usual day at the office. Another day in my mundane life.
And as it’s also winter here, maybe I should change it and tell you my favourite 10 things about winter?? Hmm this could be difficult…
1. Feeling nice and toasty warm
2. Flannelette sheets!
3. HOT SHOWERS!
4. Layers of clothes
5. Heating
6. Seat warmers
7. Hot, freshly made soup and crusty bread smothered in butter
8. Hot puddings
9. Giant cups of hot milo / chai lattes / flavoured teas
10. Curling up on the couch in pj’s, thick socks and a blanket.
