When life gives you lemons… make something else. Tell us about a time you used an object or resolved a tricky situation in an unorthodox way.
The last time I travelled interstate for work, I got to my hotel only to realise that I had no clothes line in the bathroom, and I didn’t want to risk my clothes flying off the balcony rail, fourteen stories up in the air. So instead I used my chair legs. There were three chairs sitting around a small dining table, and I stacked them all on the table or the kitchen bench so the legs were all facing out, and used the legs to hang my wet clothes on.
That’s really the only thing I can think of. I could’ve written about using old telephone books to raise my monitor height, but everybody has either done or seen that, so it’s not that unusual.
Other thing we’ve done is use coffee jars as candle holders, but again, that’s also quite common. I love the idea of repurposing old objects – then I discovered Etsy.
